Egg Donor Program for International Intended Parents: A Comprehensive Guide

For international intended parents seeking to build their families through egg donation, navigating the process can seem daunting. Here’s a detailed guide to help you understand the egg donor program:

Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

Intended parents can schedule a virtual consultation with Dr. Minoos Hosseinzadeh to discuss their specific needs and options.

The specialist will provide information on the egg donor program, including legal, logistical, and medical considerations.

Donor Selection and Screening

International intended parents will have access to our in-house egg donation database, which includes donor information such as personal health history, family health history, donor’s social history, essays, and photos.

All FISD donors are rigorously screened for physical, mental, and genetic health prior to acceptance into our program, ensuring the highest quality eggs.

Once you have found a donor that you would like to move forward with, you may select the donor through our online database or reach out to your third party coordinator.

The donor will then complete additional medical screening, including a psychological exam, genetic consult, ultrasound, and blood work.

Legal and Logistics

International intended parents will need to navigate legal and logistical requirements, including travel arrangements, visa issues, and legal agreements.

The clinic’s international patient coordinator can provide guidance and assistance throughout this process.

Synchronization and Treatment

Once all legal contracts have been completed and a cycle calendar is confirmed, the donor will complete her stimulation cycle. The stimulation cycle will last 10-14 days.

At the end of the donor’s cycle, she will have her egg retrieval at our on-site surgery center. All eggs retrieved will be fertilized with the intended parent’s sperm source (patient/partner sperm, donor sperm).

Embryos will then be developed in our embryology lab to day 5,6 or 7. All embryos that reach the blastocyst stage will be biopsied for PGT-A. Some patients may also need PGT-M testing on the embryos.

Follow-Up Care

After the embryo transfer, the clinic will provide ongoing monitoring and support to ensure the health of the pregnancy.

International intended parents may need to return to the clinic for additional visits or procedures, depending on their individual situation.

Intended Parent Travel

Intended parents will need to travel to our clinic one time, in order to:

Meet with our physician for an in-person meeting
Leave a sperm sample for cryopreservation
Sign consent forms for the cycle (this step may be completed remotely at a later date as well.)

The egg donor program for international intended parents offers a path to parenthood with the support of experienced fertility specialists. By understanding the process and working closely with the clinic’s team, international intended parents can navigate the journey with confidence and hope.
